Argenta - Still growing, and strongly positioned for the future
28 March 2024The Argenta Group performed well again in 2023, achieving a group profit of EUR 310 million, a ROE of 9.6%1, a CET1 of 22.4% and a cost-income ratio of 54%. The funds under management passed the EUR 60 billion barrier and EUR 4.2 billion in new mortgage loans were granted in Belgium and the Netherlands, despite the dip in market volumes due to the sharp rise in interest rates. This means that Argenta has held its position in the mortgage markets. Argenta increased its share in the Belgian deposits market from 8.5% to 9.2%.

Due to rising market interest rates, the 7-year term is significantly shorter than the 10-year and 20-year transactions of 2021. The bonds are rated AAA by Standard & Poor's.

Argenta partners with Cake to make accounts profitable
10 March 2021Argenta is partnering with Cake to allow Argenta customers to enjoy the Cake cashbacks without having to install the Cake banking app. Starting this summer, Argenta customers who choose this option will receive small automatic refunds when they purchase from Cake's commercial partners. This is a nice extra service for Argenta's price-conscious customers.

2 February 2021Today, Argenta successfully launched a first issuance of 500 million euros in Belgian covered bonds or mortgage bonds as part of its new “covered bond” issuance program. These are bonds of which repayment is not only guaranteed by Argenta, but also by an underlying portfolio of Belgian home loans that Argenta has provided to borrowers.

Argenta demonstrates its resilience by delivering strong first half-year 2020 figures
27 August 2020During the first half of 2020, the worldwide corona pandemic created a major upheaval of unprecedented speed and proportions in social and economic environments. Even in those circumstances, Argenta continued to guarantee personal and close-to-the-customer service. Almost all head office employees have been working from home since 16.03.2020; while Argenta branches have remained open throughout for customers by appointment. On top of this, Argenta regularly updates customers on how corona is impacting their investments. This instils a sense of confidence: with an increase of 3 billion euros, funds under management at Argenta have passed the 50 billion euros mark for the first time. The growth in savings and current accounts is accompanied by strong growth in Argenta investment funds and investment insurance policies.

Argenta issues a senior non-preferred bond of 500 million euro for professional investors
22 January 2020As part of its European medium term note (EMTN) program, Argenta has issued today a senior non-preferred bond for professional investors. A total of € 500 million was placed with investors from the Benelux, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. The issue has a maturity of 7 years and a coupon of 1 % at an issue price of 99.53 %, which yields a return of 1.07% for investors.
